A potluck invite, is actually an invitation to bring a side dish. It’s the Potluck Law. “Thou shall bring a side dish, or though shall not pass”.
Sometimes it’s just downright hard to think outside the casserole dish. Here’s an oldie from the, ‘Mormon Family Cookbook’, given to me by my Grandmother’s best friend, Milfred. This one is a definite conversation starter.
Baked Pineapple Dressing
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 large(20 oz) can of crushed pineapple, undrained
- 5 slices stale bread, cubed
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Step 1 Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Pour into casserole and bake uncovered about 30 minutes, or until set and lightly browned.
